Well went to school earlyish today to meet up with Ryu to head to the hospital and get my medical checkups done.
All went well and i had the delightful experience of having to pee into cups....... it's over-rated i assure you.
So today i bore witness to the Seoul health machine..... and i'd say system but it's more accurate to say machine. The hospital i went to spanned the better part of 6 buildings i was told.... which in itself was pretty impressive.... i commented that it didn't seem all that crowded turns out there's a hospital adjoining each university.... and there are over 20 universities in Seoul alone.... THAT is a pretty staggering figure... esp compared to Aussie...
So anyhoo got to the hospital and registered to get checked on then get my weight and height recorded.... my eyesight checked (and for the record my eyesight is really quite good... even with numbers i could barely see i was still able to make them out :p muahahahaha :P so then i get bounced off to get a history check (which considering i'm foreign is pretty much just asking me questions) then hearing check colour blindness check then x-rays then blood and urine.... and then i was sent off for school.... sigh*
i sigh cos i thought i wouldn't have to teach. as i was under the impression that i had a day of.. but no unfrtunately i didn't.. in fact i got back to the school basically in time to go to class.
So i started the day highly unprepared for any of my classes. Much to my annoyance... i like winging it sometimes... but with things i'm not particularly familiar with i much prefer having some kinda of guide.
so anyway my day after that pretty much went down hill..... seemed like everything was just irritating me..... these kids were annoying the shit out of me and i just wanted to throttle them, the korean teachers (who know how to speak english very well) always speak korean in the common room.... pretty much leaving the rest of us just doing our own thing.. that just annoyed me to hell too... i mean they don't even have the courtesy to involve the rest of us.. so basically they only speak English when they want to ask us something.... which is pretty sad.
Finally got to the end of the day and i just didn't have the energy to try and make these kids (who'd been up since about 8am to school and basically been studying non stop since then) learn i just let them have free time for the 2nd half of the lesson......
just wasn't my day today
just a shit shit day for me.....
my first real day of just thinking.....
"i wish i was home again already......."
