A single circular rainbow...

alrighty...
well, my first weekend in a nwe country and guess what i'm doing? .....NOTHING!! :)
tha's right ppl i'm not going anywhere at all. thiss weekend i'm giong to cook, study and play games... and of course research about good places to go and things to see so i can play tour guide when people start arriving.

Got up this morning around 1130 =) such a long sleep :P... tho not that long in actuality cos i slept late.... started palying Crysis again.... cos i can.
Didn't eat anything.. but made some show of cleaning up.... i've realised a coupla really sucky things about my place...... the hot water system is indecipherable...... AND on;y 1 room of the place actually gets any direct sunlight..... and as luck would have it.... it's NOT my one :S blaaardy

two things i hate... tho not having an oven irks me as well... it's not like i'm huge into baking.. but sometimes i'd just get the pre cooked fish and just chuck them into the thing rather than cook.
sigh* ah well.
At least the school's going to install air conditioning into my apartment soon so as far as the no hot water thing goes i think i'm going to solve it by turning the heat up til it's like super hot... then i can just have a cold shower and still be perfectly comfortable... smart right?Anyhoo speaking of installing stuff... my internet is apparently going to be installed on Tuesday... so after that i'm gonna have to say bye bye to smokey hole...... so if my quality and humour of my posts begin to drop (seeing both are at such high levels right now =P) after i start posting from home... chances are it's because i'm drinking as i'm posting :P but when it begins... oh the downloading my friends... the downloading :P

So anyway i head over to the gym... and being in such a daze and just happy to be walking along "familiar" territory... i completely overshot it by almost a block. But anyway, so the locker system is even better than i thought... i'd been stuffing all of my clothes and everything into this tiny tiny locker at the bottom of the stack (no. 55 or "o ship o sut cha" is located there) turns out those tiny lockers are actually for your shoes only..... and there are larger lockers which are communal and are meant for clothes storage.... teh gym dude today happend to speak some english thankfully. Now i realise that my gym room adventures hardly classify as good blog reading BUT the reason why i brought this up was because as i was walking to the gym i saw a father with his son... pointing at the sky... so of course... i looked up.... and saw...

a rainbow..... and a cloudy day....... and not just any rainbow either... this baby was a giant circle.... went right around the sun!! :S it was a beautiful sight.... i wish i could've taken a picture of it...it was really amazing....

Next thign i wanted to blog about today was food.... yes food.
now everybody knows i like food.
BUT the thing is .... in Korea it seems that when you buy ingredients you almost always buy in bulk.... i went to buy some shallots.... there were like..... 12 BIG shallots ina bundle... they don't come in any smaller.... the chillis don't come singularly... they come in a box or bag of about... 10 :S
now i ask you... what on earth am i to do with 10 fresh chillis....? hmm? sigh* tho i did use one today... well half of one.. and in order to test how hot it was.... i licked the chilli.......

now i'm going to pause while you all absorb this lil tidbit of information..

YES i realise it was dumb... but my other hot-test failed .... you smell the chilli... so anyway i removed the seed and i licked it.... and y'know.. it burned a lil but i guesss i was lucky. After i put it into the fried rice tho there really wasn't much taste coming out of it... shrugs* so next time it's going into the pancake... which i'm hopefully making tomorrow..... after i get some prawns from the seafood store on the street. Otherwise i'm just gonna go and panfry the shit out of some vegies and seafood sticks (also bought those today as well)

Speaking of buying i've realise that i almost ALWAYS buy something to add to my collection of food..... i also picked up some ginger today as well :S

anyway... my main point about the food is the fact that it seems like the food sales here (with the exception of convenience stores) are aimed towards feeding a family... or a local militia chapter. :S

so Korean food vendors hate single residences.... is my conclusion.

i made fried rice with the remainder of what i had for dinner the previous night... turned out quite good i must say :P
quite happy with the results there :)

anyhoo.. i really can't think of anything else to say so before i close off

My cousing Patricia Chan got married today and i just wanted to wish them nothing but the best in this world in everything that they do together. My hopes for a long, happy and smooth marriages for them.

Congratulations Patty =)
